JOB DESCRIPTION: SCADA Automation of Water Treatment Plant
COMPLETE SCOPE:
On the Beaverton job Selectra was the Electrical as well as the
Instrumentation Contractor. This job involved the complete automation of the
Beaverton Water Treatment Plant. We were responsible for the design and supply
of four GE Fanuc based PLC panels that used Ethernet communication to pass
information back and forth between themselves and the WonderWare based Operator
control stations. The new control system was paralleled with the existing
control system so that the Water Plant could be run in manual if
necessary. All of the change over to
the new system had to be done with only minor shutdowns as the Water Plant had
to remain operational throughout the whole job. Selectra was also responsible
for both the programming of the PLC’s and the development of the WonderWare
based Man Machine interface for this project.

JOB: NAME: Cambrige Gas

ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR: Selectra Inc.

CONTRACTOR: Selectra Inc.
CONSULTANT: Connestoga Rovers and Associates
JOB DESCRIPTION: Landfill gas collection system and revise program for
billing gas use.
COMPLETE SCOPE:
The original Cambridge Gas job which Selectra acted as both
the Electrical and Instrumentation Contractor, was a station designed to extract
methane gas from the landfill site and waste it using a flare. Selectra
designed, built and programmed the Allen-Bradley SLC control panel that
controlled the whole process. More recently the whole system was upgraded to
supply the methane gas to a local manufacturer for use in preheating ovens in
their manufacturing process. Selectra took on the job of modifying the original
control system to allow the landfill gas to be transferred to the local
manufacturers facility. We re-wrote the program to allow for these changes as
well as writing a new program to take care of calculating the billing for the
methane used, based on volume as well as quality of gas being provided.
